Stephen is the former owner of Your Healthy House, and indoor environmental testing and building consulting company. Stephen is a certified Building Biology Environmental Consultant, Building Biology New Build Consultant, a LEED Accredited Professional, a Canadian Association of Heritage Professional, and a Building Science Specialist. Stephen has carried out over 3,000 building inspection as they relate to indoor environmental health and building science failures. Stephen is a published author and regular columnist on the subject of healthy homes. Stephen teaches and speaks internationally on the science of natural and healthy building practices. Stephen also consults with faith communities with respect to building optimization, heritage, efficiency and regeneration.

Maxim holds an advanced diploma in Architectural Technology from Centennial College and a certificate in Building Science from the University of Toronto. He is also accredited as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists and a Building Science Specialist (BSS®) by the Building Science Specialist Board of Canada. With over 18 years in the construction industry, Maxim brings extensive expertise to his role as CEO of Dynamic DFMA Inc. His experience spans design, detailing, fabrication, and construction management, with a focus on integrating building science theory within prefabrication practice. Maxim’s career is marked by a commitment to excellence and a comprehensive mastery of the craft, establishing him as a respected authority in the field.

After completing his engineering education at Ryerson University, Bob entered the professional field of roof consultancy, followed by forensic engineering practice in building envelope assemblies.  For the past 30 years, Bob has been involved in the building science industry.  He is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and a Principal at Accent Building Sciences Inc. for the last 24 years.  Bob holds a certificate of Building Science Specialist (BSS) by Building Science Specialist Board of Canada (BSSB), a Certified Thermographer, and professional member of International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC, former RCI), OIRCA, and CRCA.  Throughout the years, Bob has been involved in comprehensive failure investigations, analysis and engineering design, project management/administration and evaluation of various types of building envelope systems.  His experience encompasses various types of specialty institutional buildings, such as: arenas, pools, libraries, emergency services, hospitals, long-term care, schools, correctional, art gallery; to residential and non-residential low/high-rise buildings.  His career also included working on industrial factories, and mining facilities as well.

Mr. Naji Hassan has strong experience in building envelope restoration work, roofing, waterproofing and parking garages. Mr. Hassan is also trained in Total Quality Management, Operations Management, Human Resources, and Project Management methods.  Throughout the years of practical experience in the building science industry, Mr. Hassan can assertively report on the various disciplines of building components and his record is supported by the years of engineering services.

Mr. Hassan has worked and has been responsible for the delivery of many major Building Condition Assessment projects for various municipalities in Ontario, Property Management Companies as well as housing authorities and provincial/federal buildings. 

Mr. Hassan holds a certificate in Building Science from the University of Toronto, a member in the Accessibility Advisory Committee in the town of Whitby (2nd Term) and is a past Director with RCI International Ontario Chapter.

He has been involved in the building envelope industry since 1986, particularly in roofing/waterproofing technology and building envelope restoration.

Emma Ruixian Qian, is a senior architectural technologist at Adamson-Associates Architects firm, specializing on the building envelope. She was involved in a variety of projects with challenging building envelopes, such as Institutional & Judicial, Commercial, Data Centers, Retail and Residential projects etc… Emma graduated as a survey Engineer, but she more interested in the architectural field. So, she studied at WuHan Industrial University, Wuhan, China, got the Structural Engineering Certificate. She spent the early part of her career as a teacher at the Jianghan University in China, she teaches a few courses which included building survey, materials, structure, foundation, and so on. She immigrated to Canada in 1999. She studied at Ryerson University to get an architectural certificate, and studied building science at the U of T. She is a Building Science Specialist (BSS), as a member of the Building Science Specialist Board of Canada (BSSB) and the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC), and she also is a member of the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO).

After completing his formal education he entered into an Apprenticeship in Architecture in June of 1965 and attended Art School and Technical College for Building Design & Technology. He was accepted as a Probationer of the Royal Institute of British Architects in the same year and completed parts one and two of the Intermediate Examination by means of External Testimonies over the next three years. In 1978 he became a Senior Surveying Technician by satisfying the admission requirements and becoming an Associate Member of the Society of Surveying Technicians.

Upon arrival to Canada in 1981 he applied for membership to Construction Specifications Canada and he currently serves on the Executive Committee in the capacity of Architectural Officer and Student Liaison. In addition he became an accredited Member of the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario and served on the Governing Council since 2005 and was AATO President from 2009 to 2011 and now serves as the Vice President and College & Faculty Liaison Officer.
In addition Brian has become an active member of the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA), the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC), The Ontario Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and the Ontario Association of Applied Architectural Sciences (OAAAS). He is also on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Residential Energy Services NETwork (CRESNET).

Most of his half a century in Architecture has been spent working in Architect’s Offices or Architectural Departments of large organizations. However, he has been running his own business since 1985 and since 2002 that he has devoted a good portion of his time to his own successful practice that concentrates on high end Custom Homes, Major Additions and Renovations and other Low Rise Residential projects with a focus on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability.

Having reached the pinnacle of his career he has chosen to get involved as much as possible and share his wealth of experiences with others and most particularly the younger members and students in the profession of Architecture and those in other diverse disciplines within the construction industry.

Thulasinathan is a licensed professional engineer (P. Eng.) in Ontario and Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD).  Thulasinathan graduated from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, (Assessed by University of Toronto as comparable to same degree in Canada) and completed an Internationally-Educated Engineers Qualification Bridging Program (IEEQB) from Ryerson University and Certificate in Building Science from University of Toronto.  Thulasinathan is a CCIL Certified laboratory manager for the Category II Concrete Materials Testing Laboratory.

Has over 25 years extensive experience in hi-rise and low-rise building construction, building renovation, tunnels construction, civil construction, estimation, project management and contract administration.

Presently involved in assessments, investigations and evaluation of building, parking garage and balcony structures; roofing and waterproofing, building envelope components;  including preparation specifications and design drawings; project management, field supervision and contract administration services; Thulasinathan is also responsible for coordinating and carrying out all work in connection with performance or technical audits and reserve fund or capital replacement studies for new residential, industrial and commercial condominium multi-unit buildings.

Alen has specialized Building Science experience since 2001. Alen undertakes field review, project management and construction administration of building restoration projects, investigation and testing of building elements, design and preparation of technical specifications, field instrumentation, building condition assessments for capital funding recommendations, and forensic studies on building failures. Alen served for several years on OBEC’s Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer, as well as on several committees.

Ross is a graduate of the Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering Program at Carleton University. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in 2018, Ross joined the Building Science Department at Cleland Jardine Engineering. Ross has experience working on a variety of building envelope rehabilitation projects and provides design, contract administration and field review services.  Ross also works on the assessment and evaluation of existing residential and commercial buildings.

Jeremy is a professional engineer and managing engineer with Brown and Beattie Ltd. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2000 obtaining a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering. Since that time he has worked with Brown & Beattie Ltd., a building science engineering firm dedicated to providing clear and sensible building improvement, maintenance and repair planning advice by listening to clients̢

Michael Pace is the president of Building Resource Incorporated (2002), manufacturer’s agent for specialty construction products and SRP Canada Incorporated, manufacturer of AirOutshield vapour permeable air barrier membranes.  He is a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T. Civil 1984) and a Building Science Specialist Ontario (BSS 2008).  For over 30 years Michael has promoted specialty construction products in both Canada and the USA in various market segments including building restoration, machinery grouting, corrosion resistant flooring, parking deck waterproofing, gypsum board, building envelope and insulation.  Companies include Sternson, Pennkote, Georgia Pacific Gypsum, Harris Specialty Chemicals, Atlas Roofing Corporation, CertainTeed Gypsum, BASF Walltite, BASF Resinous Flooring, NORBEC and SRP Canada AirOutshield .

Jose Medina is a Professional Engineer with over 9+years’ experience in the Consulting industry. Jose has successfully managed building envelope restoration projects (from investigation and assessment to design, tender, and quality assurance during construction) for mainly institutional and commercial projects.
Complementing his technical skills, Jose is comfortable dealing with Clients and Contractors, with sound knowledge of consulting business and technical sales. Jose is an internationally trained professional, registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), holder of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration.

Cameron is a professional engineer with consulting experience in building envelope and building science across a range of building types for both new construction and restoration projects. He currently works in technical research for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) focused on energy efficiency, GHG reductions, climate change, and construction innovations for housing.

Basil Ansari is the owner of Canadian INvironmental Services and has 18 years experience as a senior environmental consultant specializing in designated substance surveys, mold, water damage assessments, grow operations, asbestos, industrial hygiene and indoor air quality.  As a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Environmental Professional and Certified Indoor Environmental and Microbial Consultant, Mr. Ansari regularly provides consulting for insurance companies, property management, schools, hospitals, building owners and office managers.  Mr. Ansari serves as the Toronto GTA Chapter director for the Indoor Air Quality Association and provides technical training to the indoor air quality industry.  Mr. Ansari has compiled over 3000 inspections and assisted with inspections and removal of hazardous materials from buildings to a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential clients.

Graham Clarke is a Consulting Engineer and operates Clarke Engineering, a firm dedicated to inspection of houses and small buildings.

Mr. Clarke is also a Registered Home Inspector and Past President of both the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors on the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors.

Cassie Cullimore joined the Building Science Department of Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd. In 2021. She has a Bachelor of Engineering in Architectural Conservation and Sustainability from Carleton University and is a graduate of the Erasmus Mundus’ Masters in the field of Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions (SAHC). Cassie has worked on a variety of building envelope repair and concrete restoration projects including but not limited to low-slope roofing systems, heritage and modern masonry, stucco, and reinforced concrete parking garages and balconies. She has worked on all phases of projects including condition review, planning, design, tender review, field review services, and construction administration to ensure a quality end product.

Jonathan is a Senior Project Manager at CMS Building Consultants Inc.  He is an Architectural Science, Building Science Major graduate from Ryerson University.  He has over 10 years of practical experience in building assessment, reserve fund study, design, contract administration, and management of restoration projects to existing buildings and site components.  Various types of restoration projects include: roof replacement, balcony repair, window and door replacement, brick and masonry remedial, EIFS over-cladding, siding replacement, parking garage remedial, podium and foundation waterproofing, structural repair, site remedial, interior renovation, and building services upgrade/overhaul. He utilizes his building science knowledge to implement in the projects that best interest the client and community.

Negar manages the Major Capital Projects for the County of Northumberland, an upper tier of Municipal Government, to oversee the planning, design, tendering, construction administration, and delivery of all multidisciplinary municipal infrastructure projects by managing consultants/contractors, monitoring budget, and preparing schedule and public and stakeholder engagement and consultation.

David has been practicing architecture and planning for over fourteen years since receiving his Master of Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto in 2008.  He also has an undergraduate degree in Engineering and Management as well as an MBA from McMaster University.  David earned his license to practice architecture in Ontario in 2010, and currently works for the University of Toronto’s University Planning department helping the University manage and develop their built assets on campus.

Rocco Liscio is Vice-President and co-founder of Davroc & Associates Ltd. and Davroc Testing Laboratories, Inc. Rocco is a Register Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and is a graduate of Ryerson and Queens University Engineering and holds a Masters Degree in Engineering from the university of Toronto. Rocco has been responsible for the evaluation and repair of buildings for over twenty-six years.

Shawna Smigelski is a Project Manager at Edison Engineers Inc. and is responsible for all aspects of project delivery, including building assessments, developing repair strategies and specifications, construction review, and contract administration. Shawna obtained her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University and is a Professional Engineer in Ontario. She joined Edison upon entry into the industry in 2016 and became a Shareholder in 2021. Shawna is passionate about finding feasible repair options to tackle her individual clients’ needs, and improving our built environment by developing customized, durable, and aesthetically pleasing repair solutions. She focuses on educating and communicating with clients to help them make informed decisions.

Stefan Nespoli is a Principal, Professional Engineer (Ontario), and Shareholder at Edison Engineers Inc.‘s Grand River office. He obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science at the University of Waterloo. He is driven to improve our built environment by developing solutions tailed to his individual clients’ needs and is passionate about making their lives easier in the process. Stefan began his career as a contractor and gained valuable experience on condominium, commercial, and hospital project sites in Toronto and Southwestern Ontario before finding his way to Building Restoration consulting and the Condominium industry well over a decade ago. His technical background combines the areas of Structural Restoration (parking garages, balconies, waterproofing), Building Envelope (Masonry, Window Systems, Heritage), and Capital Planning (Reserve Fund Studies and Performance Audits for Condominiums). With his breadth of experience, Stefan’s passion is working with Condominium Boards, Managers, and Owners to navigate the rough waters found at the intersection of Reserve Fund and Major Project Planning.

Haseen Ahmad is currently a project manager in Building Quality Assurance Department, at McIntosh Perry (formerly CCI Group Inc.). Haseen holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering as well as the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. In his current position working as a field review consultant, his career is dedicated to the quality assurance of new construction, including townhouses, mid-rise, and high-rise buildings. He has versatile experience throughout his career, including quality control, business development, project management, project planning, and scheduling.

Graduated from Sault College in 1998 with at Diploma in Civil Engineering and then in 2002 with an Architectural Degree (Building Science) from Ryerson University.  Worked with AMEC Earth and Environmental as a Building Science Specialist from 2003 to 2007.  Rockford spent 10 years with Roxul Inc. as their Manager of the Energy Design centre, where he assisted Architects and designers in developing effective building enclosure solutions.  Currently employed by Elastochem Specialty Chemicals, Rockford uses building science to demonstrate the benefits and solutions of environmentally friendly spray polyurethane foam.  Rockford Boyer Completed his Masters of Building Science Program at Ryerson University in 2017.

Mohammed Dawoud is a professional engineer in Ontario with a passion for advancing building envelope design through the implementation of sound building science principles while maintaining a constructable approach. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Engineering focused on Structural and Infrastructural Engineering as well as professional designations such as NFRC Certified Simulator and Certified Passive House Designer. As the Technical Development Manager at CGI/Ennova Facades, Mohammed is heavily involved in the research and development of curtain wall technology suited for Architects’ aiming to achieve a high level of thermal comfort with minimum energy consumption in their design.

Ehab joined GAMMA in 2019 after 25 years with architectural firms, manufacturing divisions and building science consulting firms in both Canada and Germany. He managed the design consulting services for one of North America’s largest building envelope components’ manufactures until 2009. Furthermore, Ehab serves as the president of the Ontario Building Envelope Council [OBEC], a Diplom-Ingenieur [Dipl. Ing.] Architekt, a Member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and a Certified Passive House Designer; he is a recurrent guest lecturer and projects’ expert guest critic for the Design Studio and Building Science courses at the University of Toronto’s 2nd year Architecture Master’s program; and held multiple lectures at The Catholic University of America, Washington DC, School of Architecture and Planning Master’s program. Ehab is the registered inventor of the patented first North American Passivhaus Certified Unitized CurtainWall.

Clinton D’Souza is a passionate and driven engineer, building science specialist, and Professor.  He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree (civil engineering) from Carleton University and his Master of Applied Science degree (civil engineering) from McMaster University, specializing in structural rehabilitation and seismic design of structures.  He is a professional engineer in the province of Ontario and is also an NFRC certified simulator.  He specializes in building facades and frequently provides consulting in the areas of thermal, structural, and water-resistant design.  He also has a wide array of experience in testing, repair, and remedial measures for building facades.

Terry Carson, H.BSc. M.B.A. L.E.T. C.E.T. BSS is a Licensed Engineering Technologist in Ontario and a Registered Home Inspector (RHI-OAHI) performing building envelope condition assessments and diagnosing moisture and comfort related problems since 1984. His experience includes providing expert testimony in civil court cases and consulting as a subject matter expert on new home and building code issues. He is an ASNT Level 3 trained thermographer.

Juste Fanou is the Principal of Jm|F Technical Documentations Inc. and an experienced Specifications Writer with a background in architecture (Diploma of Architectural Technology – Sheridan College) and civil engineering (Bachelor of Technology – McMaster University) and over 10 years of experience. As a senior specifications writer, Juste has held a key role in many large commercial projects, including commercial, residential, healthcare, correctional, and institutional facilities. His passion for high performance, sustainable buildings is reflected in every project. With a fluency in both French and English, Juste is able to prepare specifications in either language, utilizing his skills to deliver high-quality results.

As an active member of the GTA construction community, Juste has shared his extensive knowledge and experience through training lectures, presentations, publications, and blog posts. This knowledge and skillset are often utilized by large architectural firms seeking his advice and assistance with contract interpretation, material substitution evaluations, and the interpretation of technical standards.

With a lengthy and varied background providing building science services, I now provide research, marketing and white papers to manufacturers, suppliers and others in the industry.  I also continue to provide input to various CSA, PEO and government committees.  I am proud to have been the very first recipient of a BSSO and to have been instrumental in getting the BSSO program first established.  I am also very proud to be the recipient of an OBEC Fellowship and the Anthony A. Woods Award for excellence in the design, construction and performance of the building envelope.

Brandon Gemme is an Project Manager at Leading Edge Building Engineers in Toronto. He received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2016, with a minor in Sustainable Energy Systems and Certificate of Engineering Business.

Brandon is responsible for evaluations, investigations and remediation of building envelope systems as well as the implementation of rehabilitation and preventative maintenance programs. He has been involved in several deep energy retrofit projects and has gained valuable experience in the design, modelling and management of these projects.

Brandon is passionate about improving the performance of our buildings, with the goal providing more sustainable, healthier and comfortable spaces for end users. Brandon also received his designation as a Certified Passive House Designer in 2021.

Ahmed is a civil engineer who graduated from Alexandria University in Egypt in 2004. Since then, he has been working on structure/infrastructure condition assessment, building audits and structural elements restoration in both Canada and Egypt. His experience also includes inspecting waterproofing systems and preparing maintenance programs for different systems. Ahmed is currently a director of constructions at Momentum Construction & Restoration Inc.

George is a Senior Building Science Specialist in the Building Specialty Services team of Morrison Hershfield/Stantec in Ottawa, Ontario.  George provides specialist consulting services to clients and peer review for MH/Stantec staff across Canada and the USA.  He has over 35 years of experience providing services relating for new building envelope design and construction and existing building performance failure investigation, rehabilitation and renewal.  His specialty is fenestration systems including windows, doors, skylights, curtain wall, window wall and sloped glazing.

George is actively involved in research and development of fenestration technology, reporting findings through technical papers, presentations and training courses to various industry and client groups, and participating in development of practice standards.  George is chair of the Technical Sub-Committee responsible for the CSA-A440.4 Window, Door and Skylight Installation standard.  He is a member of the Program Advisory Committee for the Bachelor of Building Science program and Algonquin College, a Past President of the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) and Past President of the Building Envelope Council Ottawa Region (BECOR).

Sal is the Technical Services & Codes and Standards Manager at Owens Corning Canada.  He is responsible for the design, certification and commercialisation of complete building enclosure systems for the commercial, industrial and residential building construction markets. As a civil engineer with more than 25 years of building science experience, he specializes in high performance and net zero building envelope designs, acoustic and fire separation systems and solutions.  Sal is very active on Provincial and National Code committees helping to develop energy codes and standards.  He has presented educational seminars to architects, engineering professionals and builders across the country, focusing on next generation building envelope solutions and designs, net zero envelopes, air barrier systems, noise control and fire protection systems.

Maryam is a Building Science Specialist and a Project Management Professional with experience in managing and executing diagnostic investigations, building envelope condition assessments, hygrothermal analysis of building envelope assemblies, and various types of building envelope repairs, restoration and re-cladding projects ranging from multi-unit residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. She holds Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and Master of Building Science from Ryerson University.

A Project Principal at Pretium Engineering Inc., an engineering consulting firm, specializing in Building Science for restoration of existing buildings.  Extensive experience ranging from isolated leak assessments and repairs to multi-million dollar cladding rehabilitation and window replacement projects on both multi-unit residential and commercial/institutional buildings.

As a Project Manager at Pretium, Ron specializes in capital planning and the building envelope and is responsible for reserve fund studies and site reviews.

Robert is a Building Science Consultant at Pretium Engineering Inc. His experience includes investigations; condition assessments; and design, specification development, and contract administration for the restoration of parking garages, balconies, roofs, EIFS over-cladding, and other building enclosure components. He looks forward to contributing and being an active member of the Ontario Building Envelope Council.

Christopher graduated from Seneca College, studying Civil Engineering Technology with a focus on Building Design. He was accredited as a Certified Engineering Technician (C.Tech.) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). He has managed various restoration construction projects for condominiums across the Greater Toronto Area. His role as a Project Manager has given him a range of valuable experience in preparing condition survey reports, contract administration, specification writing, reserve fund studies, and construction review of various building envelope projects.

In 1993, Alan graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics with a Minor in Management).  In 1996, he was granted his P.Eng. licence by the PEO.  In 2007, the PEO designated Alan as a Building Design Specialist in the categories of Complex Buildings and Building Structure.  Since 1994, Alan has devoted his career to delivering building science consulting services to building owners and operators in Southern Ontario.  In 2007, Alan founded R and C Engineering Inc.  R & C is consulting firm that specializes in building envelope restoration (component evaluations, design, tender, construction review, and contract administration) and capital planning (reserve fund planning, property condition assessments, and expenditure forecasting).  Alan is passionate about making the proper diagnosis of building envelope concerns, and empowering his clients to implement remediation strategies that will coincide with their short term and long term objectives.

Drew graduated in 2015 from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in the Honours Civil Engineering – Co-operative Program. Immediately thereafter, Drew began working as a Building Science Consultant for RDH Building Science Inc., first in Seattle, Washington, and now currently in Toronto, Ontario. Drew has gained a wealth of building enclosure design and construction experience through the involvement in both new construction, as well as existing buildings. Some of this experience includes design reviews, shop drawing reviews, thermal/hygrothermal modeling, construction field review, performance testing (i.e., whole building air tightness, water penetration), forensic investigations, and building enclosure condition assessments. Drew is excited to be a holder of the Building Science Specialist designation as he continues to gain industry experience working on high performance buildings.

Jordan is an Associate with RJC Engineer’s Building Science and Restoration division, providing building envelope consultation services within southwestern Ontario and across Canada. Jordan graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Civil and Structural Engineering, and is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario.

Jordan is responsible for evaluations, investigations and remediation of building envelope systems (walls, windows, roofing), as well as the implementation of rehabilitation and preventative maintenance programs.

Capital project manager currently focused on managing restoration projects in the public sector.

Bryce is a Project Engineer with RJC Engineers in Edmonton AB. His focus over the past 10 years has been structural and building envelope restoration projects for clients throughout Alberta. Diagnosing and repairing building envelope failures has been instrumental in developing his knowledge and understanding of durable building envelope detailing. Bryce has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, is registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and is a Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) through CSC.

Andrea is passionate about building science and seeing all projects, large or small, done correctly. His grounding in technical subjects, work ethic and attention to detail make him a “go-to” resource for colleagues and clients. Many clients specifically request Andrea, especially for new construction projects. He cares about his projects and understands the trust clients place in him and RJC.

Andrea is responsible for managing the evaluations, investigations and remediation of building envelope systems as well as the implementation of rehabilitation and preventative maintenance programs. In addition to existing buildings, Andrea has provided building envelope consultation on a large variety of complex new construction projects, including residential, institutional, and commercial buildings. Andrea has extensive thermal modelling experience and has contributed this expertise to several projects with complex conditions and innovative materials.

Andrea is a Building Science Specialist (BSS) with a Masters of Building Science from Ryerson University and a Bachelors of Arts, Architecture, from the University of Toronto. He is active within industry, and is a Director with the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC.)

Area of expertise range from multi-discipline engineering, product development, test program design, forensic evaluation to material testing, codes and standard review, field investigations, and design review. A certified thermographer with membership in ASTM and CSC. A designated consulting engineer by PEO and licensed to practice in both Ontario and the Northwest Territories.

Paul is the Regional Sales Director - Ontario for Siplast Inc.  He is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Building Science Program as well as the Architectural Design Technology Program at Humber College. He is registered with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), and with the Building Science Specialist Board of Canada as a Building Science Specialist (BSS). 

Paul’s career covers over 30 years of experience within the Architectural, Engineering, Building Material Manufacturing, and Distribution communities.  Paul has also been an Adjunct Professor at Humber College and has taught in the Architectural Design Technology and Construction Project Management programs between 2002 and 2012.

Paul is also a Past President of the Ontario Building Envelope Council where he resided on the Board of Directors from 2004 until 2010.

Guillermo obtained a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a certificate in marketing management in his native Colombia. After practising for 8 years, moved to Canada. Joined Soprema in 2006 and is the Architectural Representative , looking after Architectural, Engineering, Specification Writing and Consulting firms in the Toronto area

Mike Rekker (C.E.T., BSS) is a Project Manager at Tacoma Engineers with over 15 years of experience in building design and management of construction projects including a focus on building science and heritage structures. His experience includes industrial, institutional, residential, and various commercial projects. Mike collaborates with the structural engineering team for assessment of structures as it applies to building structure and building science. He leads the internal building science knowledge base at Tacoma. Mike has a passion for working on heritage buildings that has extended to award winning projects and locations across Canada. He was previously on the board of directors of OBEC (2019-2020) and continues to support the industry with his time.

Chuck Murad holds a Master’s Degree in Building Sciences from Ryerson University, a Building Science Certificate from U of T, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Damascus University. Chuck has a diversified knowledge of engineering, project management, Ontario Building Code, building sciences and building envelope investigation.

Chuck holds a Building Science Specialist (BSS) designation since 2005 from the Building Science Specialist Board (BSSB) and a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) since 2003 from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). His Professional Engineer of Ontario (P. Eng.) license application to the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario is pending.

Chuck has worked for over 15 years with many construction companies and consulting engineering firms in Canada. Currently, Chuck works at Tarion as a Manager of Technical Common Elements.  Previously, he worked for 14 years at Tarion as a Manager of Stakeholder Relations, and a Senior Warranty Services Rep. for Condominium Common Elements, managing construction defecincy claims for low-mid and high rise residential condominium projects and dispute resolution.

Ryan has worked for Tarion Warranty Corporation since 2008 and is the Director of Common Elements. He works closely with builders, municipalities, consultants, and owners across Ontario to ensure Condominiums are constructed as required under warranty. Ryan graduated from George Brown College with a Diploma in Architectural Technology and has since obtained a Certificate in Building Science from the University of Toronto. Ryan has been a member of OBEC and has held the designation of BSS since 2016.

Matthew received his Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology at Mohawk College in 2013 and immediately began his career in building design at -30- Forensic Engineering. Matthew remained dedicated to growing professionally by completing his Ontario Building Code Compliance Certificate at Humber College, the Building Science Certificate at the University of Toronto and the CanPHI Passive House Designer course at St. Paul University in Ottawa. Most recently, Matthew has been working on his Bachelor of Building Science Degree at Algonquin College which will be completed in April 2019. In addition to the above, he has attended many professional seminars since starting out. All this over the past six years and while working full-time!

Matthew is a licensed designer under the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (small building and structural) and has been providing custom design and renovations for the past three years with his own firm, TenHouse Building Workshop. At -30-, Matthew assisted as the primary technologist for investigations on building conditions regarding structure, building envelopes, fire separations and exterior architectural building features. He also carried out surveys using a Total Station and Faro Focus laser scanner. He was then promoted to manager of the technologist team where he led in technical expertise and reviewed all small buildings drawings for design improvement and code compliance. Finally, he was promoted to associate and acted as a client liaison, writing building condition assessment reports including restoration scopes. In the past year, Matthew has left -30- to pursue his own firm where he employs two technologists and has a network of builders.

Matthew is passionate about building design and is extremely motivated to build a career in providing high quality buildings. He is a dedicated building design professional skilled in architectural design, structural design, building optimization, 3D conceptual planning and project management, especially as they relate to small buildings. His goal is to build high performing, beautiful homes that are sustainable and make people happy.

Ping is a Building Enclosure Consultant with the Diagnostics Group at Walter P Moore (Toronto Office). She holds a Master of Engineering (Civil Engineering) degree from University of Toronto, with a specialization in Building Science.  Ping’s focus is on building enclosure consulting and building diagnostics.  Her expertise includes evaluating, assessing, and designing repairs for distress related to exterior wall assemblies and roofing systems; historic building facade assessment and rehabilitation; building performance modeling; load check for existing structures; and parking garage assessment and repairs.  Ping routinely develops contract documents including drawings and technical specifications, as well as providing construction administration.

Rachel Gullage joined WSP Canada in 2021 as a Project Manager with the Building Science department in Ottawa. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering from Carleton University and has over 6 years of experience in building science consulting. Rachel regularly participates in building condition assessments to evaluate building condition, diagnose structural and building envelope problems, and aid clients in capital planning.  In addition, she is responsible for the preparation of project specifications, drawings, and tender documents for a wide variety of building envelope restoration projects across the commercial, institutional, and residential sectors. Her involvement in contract administration and field review services helps to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with the project requirements.

Scott is passionate about buildings: their design and construction, ongoing performance, deterioration and failure, and, ultimately, their renewal. His projects have spanned commercial, institutional, heritage, recreational, residential, and neighbourhood development in Canada, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. A LEED Accredited Professional, past Secretary and Board member of the CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter, a Building Science Specialist (BSS), and Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), Scott successfully bridges the traditional gap between Architectural and Engineering disciplines.
